SUMMARY:SCA Annual Meeting and Workshops
DESCRIPTION:Message from the Scientific Program Chair\nDear Colleagues\, \nPlease join us for the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists 49th Annual Meeting and Workshops in vibrant Las Vegas\, Nevada\, April 8–11\, 2027. We look forward to welcoming you to an exceptional educational experience and the opportunity to connect with friends and colleagues while enjoying the city’s bright lights\, bold ideas\, and unforgettable energy. \nThe 2027 meeting will feature an engaging and practical program designed to reflect the breadth and energy of our specialty. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in small-group sessions\, hands-on workshops\, panel discussions\, and problem-based learning discussions focused on the most important topics and emerging developments in cardiovascular anesthesiology. \nThe program will highlight the latest research\, evolving clinical practice\, and important controversies in perioperative care. Multidisciplinary panels will bring together experts from cardiology\, cardiothoracic surgery\, perfusion\, critical care medicine\, regional anesthesiology\, and related fields to provide diverse perspectives on complex clinical challenges. Workshops will offer hands-on learning in smaller\, more interactive settings\, while problem-based learning discussions will allow attendees to work through clinically challenging cases with expert faculty. \nResearch and scholarship will remain central to the Annual Meeting. Attendees can look forward to abstract presentations\, “Best of Meeting” sessions\, and a Late-Breaking Research session featuring exciting new work from across the field. The program will also include a Live-Case session\, offering a dynamic opportunity to learn through real-time discussion and expert commentary. Echocardiography-focused content and CME will be offered throughout the meeting\, and echo enthusiasts will not want to miss the always-popular Super Echo session. \nAs in years past\, the meeting will also include programming tailored to trainees\, with sessions designed to support the educational and professional development of medical students\, residents\, and fellows. These offerings will provide valuable mentorship opportunities and help welcome the next generation of specialists into our field. \nWe also look forward to expanding opportunities for networking and connection throughout the meeting; our SCA Networking Event will provide attendees with the opportunity to engage with SCA groups\, meet with vendors\, and connect with colleagues during a reception after the first full day of the meeting. \nWe hope you will join us in Las Vegas as we come together to share knowledge\, strengthen our community\, and advance the field of cardiovascular anesthesiology. \nSee you there! \nStephanie Ibekwe\, MD\, MBA\, MPH\, MS\, Chair\, Scientific Program Committee 2027-2028 \nTara Brakke\, MD\, FASE\, Vice Chair\, Scientific Program Committee 2027-2028 \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Look forward to:\n\nAmazing content delivered by experts in cardiothoracic anesthesiology\, interventional cardiology\, and cardiothoracic surgery.\nExperts will provide didactics\, small group breakout teaching\, and high yield discussions.\nProblem based learning discussions\, scientific abstracts\, and workshops are planned to optimize attendee learning and connection on critical cardiothoracic anesthesiology topics.\nAttendee networking\, idea-sharing\, and exhibits\n\n \n \n \n \n \n This year\, in-person you can:\n\nAttend live discussion sessions to help you discover up to date practice pathways and innovations in the field\nRegister for Workshops and PBLDs tailored for YOUR educational needs\nNetwork with 1\,200 other professionals in anesthesiology as well as thoracic surgeons to help you gain insight into your practice and career\nConnect with industry and exhibiting companies to learn about new products and programs\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Scientific Program Committee\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Stephanie Ibekwe\, MD\, MBA\, MPH\, MS\n Board Liaison \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Tara R.
