SUMMARY:Thoracic Anesthesia Symposium and Workshops
DESCRIPTION:Message from the TAS Program Chair\n \n \n \n \n \n Dear Colleagues\, \n \nPlease plan to join us at the 15th Annual Thoracic Anesthesia Symposium and Workshops in Las Vegas\, NV on Thursday\, April 8\, 2027! We look forward to bringing our community together for a dynamic exchange of ideas\, techniques\, and advances in thoracic anesthesia. \nWe recognize the competing demands on your time and the many options for continuing medical education. This year’s program is intentionally designed to deliver both high-value content and practical skill development. In addition to expert-led didactic sessions from international leaders in thoracic anesthesia\, we are pleased to offer updated\, hands-on workshops focused on advanced lung isolation techniques\, precision ultrasound guidance for regional and neuraxial anesthesia\, and targeted point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) applications. Workshops are included with registration\, with multiple sessions offered throughout the day to maximize opportunities for participation. \nOur goal remains to provide clinically relevant updates\, strengthen procedural skills\, and create space for thoughtful discussion of complex and controversial topics in our field. The program will also feature original research\, challenging case presentations in both poster and oral formats\, and interactive problem-based learning discussions. Each session is designed to deliver clear\, actionable insights tailored to the needs of thoracic anesthesiologists. \nIn the months leading up to the meeting\, we encourage you to engage with the SCA DocMatter Thoracic Channel (DLT Exchange)\, where members of the Planning Committee will host discussions and share previews of 2027 Symposium content. \nPlease note the updated 2027 meeting format: the Thoracic Anesthesia Symposium will take place on Thursday\, April 8\, followed by the SCA Annual Meeting from April 8–11. \nWe look forward to reconnecting with colleagues and welcoming new members to our community. \nOn behalf of the SCA and the Thoracic Anesthesia Symposium Planning Committee\, we hope to see you in Las Vegas. \nSincerely\, \nEmily Teeter\, MD\nChair\, Thoracic Anesthesia Symposium and Workshops Program Committee\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Look forward to:\n\nA focus on dramas\, traumas\, along with everyday challenges in thoracic anesthesiology.\nExploration of the latest literature and current controversies by international experts in the field.\nHands-on workshop featuring new and updated workshop stations with live models\, custom high-fidelity 3D phantom models\, and 3D anatomic visualization!\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n At the SCA Thoracic Anesthesia Symposium you can:\n\nChoose 3 in-person workshops and register for an optional live PBLD for a conference experience tailored to YOUR educational needs.\nNetwork with 200 other professionals in anesthesiology to help you gain insight into your practice and career.\nConnect with our exhibitors to learn about new products and programs.\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n SCA Thoracic Anesthesia Symposium Program Planning Committee\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Emily Teeter\, MD\, FASE\n Chair \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Diana Anca\, MD\n Vice Chair and Abstract Coordinator \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Caryl Bailey\, MD\n Workshop & PBLD Coordinator \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \nDouglas Shook\, MD\nJessica Spence\, MD\nSteffen Rex\, MD\nHarendra Arora\, MD\, MBA\, FASA\nSergey Karamnov\, MD\nPriya A Kumar\, MD\nKofi Vandyck\, MD\nJulien Fessler\nNicole Ginsberg\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Meeting Venue\n\nBellagio3600 S Las Vegas BlvdLas Vegas\, NV 89109
