Does your program provide fellows with the opportunity to attend national or local conferences? | Yes, fellows are expected to attend the SCA Annual Meeting and are encouraged to attend any other meetings of interest to them. They have 5 educational days to use toward this effort. |
Overall comments regarding your program. | Strong clinical program with a wide variety of high acuity cases. Flexible year with easy-going attendings and exceptional surgeons. We have a robust didactic curriculum with many educational opportunities. This includes weekly lectures on Wednesday mornings with a dedicated cardiac anesthesia faculty, monthly echo rounds with the cardiac section, quarterly or bi-monthly journal club with cardiac surgery and anesthesia, and almost daily echo reading sessions. Additionally, our fellows attend relevant echo conferences with cardiology. |
