STRATEGIC PLAN GOAL: MEMBER ENGAGEMENT
SCA membership will be desirable to all anesthesiologists practicing cardiovascular and thoracic anesthesiology and critical care medicine.
To monitor state and national policy actions to ensure that the Society‘s interests and objectives are adequately represented.
The purpose of the Economics and Governmental Affairs Sub-Committee is to address, advise, and educate the Board of Directors and membership on economic issues of importance to the field of cardiovascular anesthesiology. The Committee’s scope encompasses short and long-term issues associated with utilization of and coverage for billing codes used in cardiovascular anesthesiology, to the potential economic impact of public policy decisions on cardiovascular anesthesiology practice.
The sub-committee reports to the Member Engagement Committee.
The sub-committee meets at least once per year,
The sub-committee is composed of the Chair, Vice-Chair, Parent Committee (Member Engagement) Chair, and other Society members. A Board Liaison may be appointed at the discretion of the President.
Sub-committee members serve for a term of two years for any number of terms, but not more than three terms consecutively.
