ENHANCED RECOVERY AFTER THORACIC SURGERY (ERATS) WORKING GROUP DESCRIPTION & ROSTER
STRATEGIC PLAN GOAL: RESEARCH
SCA will be a global leader in comprehensive professional development that promotes the provision of safe, high quality, cost -effective medical care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic procedures.
The mission of the working group is to help guide the successful establishment of Enhanced Recovery after Thoracic Surgery programs.
The purpose of this working group is to produce expert opinion on principles necessary to implement an Enhanced Recovery after Thoracic Surgery (ERATS) program across a wide range of practice settings, from community-based hospitals to large academic centers.
The working group reports to the Clinical Practice Improvement Sub-Committee.
The working group meets at least once per year.
The working group is composed of the Chair, Parent Sub-Committee (CPI) Chair, Parent Committee (QSL) Chair, and other SCA members and STS members. A Board Liaison may be appointed at the discretion of the President.
Working group members serve for a term of two years.
