Neuroprotection Sub-committee Description & Roster
STRATEGIC PLAN GOAL: RESEARCH
SCA will be a global leader in comprehensive professional development that promotes the provision of safe, high quality, cost -effective medical care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic procedures.
MISSION
The mission of the sub-committee is to develop and recommend cerebral protection guidelines to assist perioperative physicians (cardiac anesthesiologists, cardiac surgeons, cardiologists).
PURPOSE
The purpose of this sub-committee is to summarize cerebral protection literature and distill the multiple existing practice guidelines.
PARENT COMMITTEE
The sub-committee reports to the Clinical Practice Improvement Committee.
MEETING
The sub-committee meets at least once per year.
COMPOSITION
The sub-committee is composed of the Chair, Parent Committee Chair, Board liaison, and members-at-large.
TERM
Members may serve a maximum of two consecutive terms unless presidential approval is granted for a third.
