STRATEGIC PLAN GOAL: LEADERSHIP
SCA will be a recognized resource for healthcare providers engaged in the care of patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic procedures.
MISSION
The Kaplan Leadership Development Award Committee reviews applications for the Kaplan Leadership Development Scholarship. The scholarship assists cardiac anesthesiologists early in their careers to develop their leadership skills. It allows the applicants to participate in leadership education opportunities.
PURPOSE
The committee coordinates the Kaplan Leadership Development Scholarship program to further the interests and goals of the Society by assisting future industry leaders grow their skills. Specific duties include working with the SCA to secure donations to fund the scholarship; reviewing incoming applications; and reviewing eligibility requirements on an annual basis.
PARENT COMMITTEE
The committee reports to the Endowment Oversight Council.
MEETING
The committee meets at least once per year.
COMPOSITION
The committee is composed of the Chair, Parent Committee Chair, Board liaison, and members-at-large.
TERM
Members may serve a maximum of two consecutive terms unless presidential approval is granted for a third.
