Call for PBLDs Now Open! Closes on Friday, July 10th
Message from the TAS Program Chair

Please plan to join us at the 15th Annual Thoracic Anesthesia Symposium and Workshops in Las Vegas, NV on Thursday, April 8, 2027! We look forward to bringing our community together for a dynamic exchange of ideas, techniques, and advances in thoracic anesthesia.
We recognize the competing demands on your time and the many options for continuing medical education. This year’s program is intentionally designed to deliver both high-value content and practical skill development. In addition to expert-led didactic sessions from international leaders in thoracic anesthesia, we are pleased to offer updated, hands-on workshops focused on advanced lung isolation techniques, precision ultrasound guidance for regional and neuraxial anesthesia, and targeted point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) applications. Workshops are included with registration, with multiple sessions offered throughout the day to maximize opportunities for participation.
Our goal remains to provide clinically relevant updates, strengthen procedural skills, and create space for thoughtful discussion of complex and controversial topics in our field. The program will also feature original research, challenging case presentations in both poster and oral formats, and interactive problem-based learning discussions. Each session is designed to deliver clear, actionable insights tailored to the needs of thoracic anesthesiologists.
In the months leading up to the meeting, we encourage you to engage with the SCA DocMatter Thoracic Channel (DLT Exchange), where members of the Planning Committee will host discussions and share previews of 2027 Symposium content.
Please note the updated 2027 meeting format: the Thoracic Anesthesia Symposium will take place on Thursday, April 8, followed by the SCA Annual Meeting from April 8–11.
We look forward to reconnecting with colleagues and welcoming new members to our community.
On behalf of the SCA and the Thoracic Anesthesia Symposium Planning Committee, we hope to see you in Las Vegas.
Sincerely,
Emily Teeter, MD
